These are some of the fortunate symptoms you would experience during and after you receive a Traditional Thai Bodywork session. This unique healing modality is unlike any typical form of bodywork. If you are scared, don't be. You don't have to be flexible or know how to do yoga in order to receive a treatment. You as the receiver relax and enjoy all the benefits, while the practitioner does most of the work.
Thai bodywork is A system of body manipulations developed in Thailand and influenced by the medicine systems of India, China, and Southeast Asia, as well as by yoga. The recipient wears loose ,comfortable clothing and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. The receiver may be positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions during the course of the session, but deep static and rhythmic pressures form the core of the bodywork. Thai Bodywork generally follows designated energy lines ("sen") in the body. The legs and feet of the practioner can be used to position the body or limbs of the recipient. In other positions, hands fix the body, while the feet do the manipulation. A traditional Thai bodywork session typically lasts two hours or more, and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body. This may include pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking knuckles, walking on the recipient's back, and moving the recipient's body into many different positions. There is a standard procedure and rhythm to the session, which is adjusted to fit each individual person.
